no people is alive with their customer service. All robots. PRE ordered my iPhone and now 3 weeks, not shipped yet!!!
If I could give these guys negative star rating I would. I live in a remote area and needed a new telephone. I rely on good, reliable online shopping experiences.
The email communications has been poor with lack of details around shipping, expectations, contact, etc. Access to service or information is abhorrent.
I contacted the unbelievably shocking customer care team a few times using Messenger and Whatsapp (remember I'm in a remote area with no phone) and it took 3 hours each time to speak with customer "service specialists" who gave vague responses. I waited 3 hours on both occasions to get an update and then when the Harvey Norman team have several minutes of non responsiveness on their side before a chat automatically closes. What a double standard.
Turns out the product I was waiting on that was listed as "In Stock" is drop shipped item from another supplier. They don't even have the stock.
I proudly support Australian businesses and products but I WILL NEVER SHOP AT HARVEY NORMAN AGAIN!

My husband and I had a very good customer experience today when we visited the Oxley store. Dan was informative and very helpful without being pushy and gave us a great deal on our bedding and bedroom furniture, even staying back after closing time. We enjoyed our shopping day and the wide range of choices.
I've been waiting 3 months for delivery of my graphics card and CPU
It took more than SEVEN (7) MONTHS (!!!) to replace my faulty WD 4TB Passport HD... I have ALL the emails and papers for whoever doesn't believe it... I contacted HN first time early September 2020 and after a LONG series of calls and emails eventually I received it yesterday 18 March 2021 (the ONLY answer to my complains was "Apologies...") SEVEN MONTHS!!!
The hot line machine repeat forever to answer the call. Give up on Harvey Norman hot line service and will not buy again from them .
Just bought a rug in your store at Supa Centre (Moore park) and I would like to just say thank you one more time to the lovely lady who helped us, Beijie Hu. The customer service in your stores is always great, but she went above and beyond. Thanks again Beijie!
Kind regards,
Alma
Only giving 1 star as I can't put zero. Bought phone from Ballina NSW. Started glitching after 8 months. Was sent to Roadhound ( samaung's authorised repairer) 3 times taking 3-4 weeks to return wasting my $50 recharge each time. On one of those occasions I was charged $350 for repairs which I paid out of desperation to have a phone back. Was told it had internal water damage, returned with pic. of the spot which was the USB jacking point for recharge with a small amount of green corrosion due to being in my pocket) and warrantee was void. I told them that point is external and is not the problem. On the third time the head tech support guy said "Maybe you just have to accept that you've damaged it". I said that you know I haven't and that I want sent to a different repairer. He then said he was sending it to Robina in Qld. and when I got home an email told me it was on it's was to roadhound again. I called head office to complain who said its not their problem and that I have to deal with the electronic dept. I told them the story and that I didn't want to deal with that tech support guy again to which they said OK but 2 days later I'm dealing with the same guy again. OMG. Finally it is sent to Robina and comes back saying it is motherboard issues. The phone worked for another couple of months only to have the same problems return. I then gave up due to complete frustration and exhaustion ant the fact that Dept. of fair trading is a toothless tiger. There is NO accountability within this whole company and they know it as many reviews on this and different sites show. Consumer watchdogs in this country need to start doing their job with way more effort and integrity!!!
Never felt threatened in a retail store before . Been a loyal customer of Harvey Norman for 25 years and more recently in the past few months bought a Sony OLED, washing machine and Dyson vacuum cleaner.
Out of loyalty went into the Harvey Norman Maribyrnong store to buy some smaller electronics ($300 worth) knowing they would price match against competitors such as Officeworks under their advertised price guarantee and was meet with a barrage of excuses and reasons from different staff members not to honour it. Then asked to speak to manager and waited 15 minutes to be aggressively approached by him and later threatened in a persecuting manner that as we had already opened the box to inspect the goods we were buying, (Logitech keyboard) we had therefore already bought it at the full price” when we refused and decided to leave without a purchase. He threatened to get security using further verbal and physically intimidating tactics to purchase the items. As we began to leave he “escorted us out” like we criminals.
Our upcoming intent to purchase a full Sonos home theatre system and sound bar and HP spectre laptop (about $6000-$7000 worth ) will be going elsewhere.
Absolutely useless
I will never shop here again
Simply wanted to replace head phones
But had to leave them there for some technician to confirm that they were not working which could have been done in 5 minutes less time I spent disputing
Now I have to come back a 3rd time to collect
JpFi replaced there and then on the spot
Harvey Norman has franchised his stores to several different franchisees within every store. Every type of item sold to you by different floor assistants and separate payments.
It makes for a very difficult time making purchases , for staff and customer ,
Most things were on show but not available, so you can take a long time to choose an item but cannot purchase,
I understand that Covid has delayed a lot of things but a label should be applied to unavailable items so that you don’t waste your time looking through items you cannot buy,
I think the practice of several franchised retailers within one company name is a bad practice , and really deceptive, because you don’t know who you are dealing with.
Would never shop at a Harvey Norman store again ,
Ordered a laptop on 23 October 2020. As i write this on 19 December 2020 it still isn't delivered and they refuse to process a refund either. Please please please buy somewhere else!
